If you are going to be reading my blog this year, please take a few minutes and watch this video. It's a little long, but I promise it's worth it. It's really important to me that my friends realize that my experiences here in Tchad are not going to be representative of the country as a whole. Author Chimamanda Adichie does a wonderful job expressing why basing our assumptions on a single story can be so detrimental. I realize I am the only connection that many of you have to Tchad, but as you keep up with my adventures, bear in mind the bias I likely have in my writing. In turn, I will do my best to share a spread of stories with you so you can draw your knowledge from as many examples as possible : )
